War, romance, anger, depression, dancing, judgment—it's the stuff of history, especially Old Testament history in 1-2 Samuel and 1-2 Kings where we will be for our new sermon series beginning in September. Here are some over-arching aspects of this exciting history.

Last Sunday Phil preached particularly to parents. During his first point, he listed off seven ways we can exasperate our children, which means to sinfully or unnecessarily provoke them to anger.

We're trying to build a church here that has an effective "every-member ministry." Thus, we are excited for men like John–as well as women and children!–to do the work of ministry at SGC.

Last Sunday Walt preached on the sanctity of life. Like many churches, we often choose a Sunday around January 22, the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, to reflect on what it means to be pro-life in a culture that often is not. As Walt closed his sermon, he challenged us with some practical ways to engage this fight.
