Today's class looked at biblical ethics. John Murray defined Christian ethics in this way:
“If ethics is concerned with manner of life and behavior, biblical ethics is concerned with the manner of life and behavior which the Bible requires and which the faith of the Bible produces.”[1]
We looked at the various ways God reveals his will to us (commandments, conscience, discernment, the Spirit), the gospel grammar of first indicatives and then imperatives, and a framework for organizing God's commandments according to the two great commandments and the Decalogue. The outline for the class and reading for next time are linked on this page. The video is available here (passcode: Bmh8R$m&).
