Humanly speaking parents are the most important influence in a child's life—for good or ill. It is a terrific responsibility. Our child will hear our voice and remember our words and actions, good or bad, in the years to come. Thus Scripture admonishes us not to provoke our children to anger, but rather to raise the children that God entrusts to us in the nurture and discipline of the Lord: sacrificing for them, training them well, and loving them...remembering always that love is not easily offended.
