Today we looked at the Major Prophet Isaiah. We began with an introduction to the prophets in general, getting oriented to where they fall in the history of salvation and some handholds to remember as we read them. This is the hardest part of our Bibles to read well, mostly because of the unfamiliar places and people we're reading about, but also because they often speak in symbolic language. Then we turned to Isaiah in particular, the OT prophecy some have referred to as "the 5th gospel" because it has such clear teaching on Jesus Christ.
