We are called to be filled with the Spirit, every day, in every moment. To be filled with the Spirit is to be constrained, inspired, empowered by what the Spirit thinks and does. People drink to forget, but the Holy Spirit causes us to remember all that God has done in Christ—the Cross, his faithfulness, his promises fulfilled, his promises to come. That is a source of great joy!
